Honeypot

Create decoy channels that automatically ban or kick malicious bots and raiders upon interaction.

What is a Honeypot?

A honeypot is a hidden or designated decoy channel invisible to normal members but visible to automated self-bots, scrapers, and rogue users. If anyone sends a message, adds a reaction, or triggers interactions in this trap channel, Kyro instantly neutralizes the threat.

How does it work?

Automated raid tools and user-bots typically iterate through all channels in a server to spam invites or phishing links. By placing a honeypot channel at the top or bottom of your channel list, raid bots will trigger it before reaching your community members.

Ensure normal members and verified roles do not have permission to view or send messages in your honeypot channel to prevent accidental bans.

Setting up a Honeypot channel

You can configure your honeypot channel directly through the dashboard or by using the bot command:

honeypot set #channel
honeypot remove
honeypot status

Punishment Actions

Configure the action Kyro takes when a honeypot tripwire is triggered:

honeypot action <ban | kick | jail>

Permissions & Best Practices

To configure or manage the honeypot system, you must have the Administrator or Manage Server permission, or be granted the corresponding fake permission.
